The Sims is celebrating Pride with a Virtual Pride Parade

If there’s a series that we know to be a fan favourite of LGBT+ folks, it’s The Sims. It makes sense – same-sex relationships have been around since the beginning of The Sims creation back in the year 2000. While it wasn’t exactly ‘equal’ to heterosexual couples, The Sims has majorly improved over the years, with The Sims 4 even adding in Pride cosmetics last June.

This year however, what with the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown going on, Pride has had to be put on hold for a lot of us. With this in mind, The Sims have decided that now, more than ever, is the perfect time to celebrate love. How? By hosting their very first virtual Pride parade.

The reasoning behind this is simple: everyone has a lot of going on right now, both emotionally with the ongoing oppression of black people, as well as the inability to even go and see friends and/or family. The LGBT+ community is a huge family, and just like us, EA and The Sims want to see your pride.

Starting yesterday, The Sims community wants fans to submit their very best Sims Pride looks via social media and on The Sims Gallery using #SimsPride2020 for a chance to be featured in The Sims Pride Celebration Event and group photo at the end of the month. Of course, you’ll need to look your best, so show off all your Pride regalia with a smile!

Players have until the 29th of June to post, because on June 30th, YouTuber EnglishSimmer will be hosting the Virtual Pride Parade live stream on The Sims Twitch channel.

Will you be getting involved? Make sure to tag #SimsPride2020 for a chance to be part of something huge!
