Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales now available on Nintendo Switch
Everyone loves a good Witcher game, just ask anyone you know and we’re certain that at least 70% of them will say that The Witcher 3 is at least one of their favourite games. It’s not hard to see why, but what if we told you that there was another game? A certain The Witcher Tales? One that is now available on Nintendo Switch?
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is not a new game by any means, having first released back in 2018 as a single-player component to Gwent: The Witcher card game. Which means yes, tactics and puzzles are a thing in this game. One wrong move, and you’ll have to face the deadly consequences.
In The Witcher Tales, you play as Meve, the war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Meve is a tough lady, but she faces an opponent that even sent Queen Calanthe reeling. An imminent Nilfgaardian invasion.
With war heading to her front door, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge. She’ll have to gather allies, and avoid enemies the best she can, all while doing her best to equip her army and save Lyria and Rivia.
Just like The Witcher series, this game is an RPG where your choices matter. While you may think the choice you’re making is benevolent or righteous, other characters you meet along the way may think very differently. So take this as your warning: be wary of everyone you meet.
You’ll also meet numerous new faces, and maybe even a familiar one? Well, it is called The Witcher after all…
