The Witcher timeline is explained thanks to an interactive map from Netflix

The Witcher was highly regarded by a lot of fans of the books, and it’s easy to see why as they follow the books quite heartily. However, if you’re a first-time watcher and have never touched the books or the games, The Witcher timeline can get pretty confusing.

For example, the very first episode starts with a character dying, only for you to find out later on that they are a major player. And no, that’s not considered a spoiler, because it’s just so befuddling you’ll probably never realize who the character is until you’re done with the show.

But have no fear. Thanks to VG24/7, we now know that Netflix has thought ahead, creating a timeline that’ll help viewers understand just what’s going on throughout the show.

As you can see from above, the website is pretty nice and the timelines are broken up into four different sections. The grey signifies the general history of what’s happening in the Continent, the orange is Geralt, the purple is Yennefer and the green stands for Ciri’s timeline.

We did try to go further than episode 8 to see if the game was somehow included, but we weren’t really surprised to see that it wasn’t.

If you want to check out the Witcher timeline for yourself, head on over to the official website.

We’re excited to see what’s coming next for the Witcher and with season 2 confirmed to be filming right now, we’re eager to jump back into The Continent as soon as possible.
