Get a little spooky this year with Cthulu Saves Christmas
If you ask us, Cthulu has always had an unfair rep. Sure, this eldritch monster may not seem at all friendly, but even he isn’t as bad as you may think. It’s not like he’d ruin Christmas or anything. No, as a matter of fact, in this game, Cthulu saves Christmas.
Do you find that hard to believe? Well, that’s okay because thanks to Robert Boyd, Bill Stiernberg, and Joshua Queen from Zeboyd Games, the minds behind such a concept, we’re going to see how strange this all really is.
The premise of the game is rather simple. Santa Claus has been kidnapped by the League of Christmas Evil and only Cthulhu can save him. Cthulu will also be joined by companions Belsnickel, the Snow Maiden, and Baba Yaga-chan – all figures of folklore or myth.
Zeboyd Games have previously developed Cthulu Saves the World, which had tongue-in-cheek Lovecraftian humour, as well as the obliteration of the fourth wall. We’re expecting the same thing from Cthulu Saves Christmas, but of course, with a little more festivity.
You’ll not only be fighting Krampus, Mari Lwyd, and other Christmas League of Evil villains in this turn-based combat, but you’ll also have the chance to build your ‘ R’lyehtionship levels’ with friends and foes in the life sim segments that the game has.
What else does the game have? Well, if you, your friends and family are a fan of tentacles then there’s no need to convince you to try out this game at all, is there? Just a whole lot of tentacle fun.
But when will you be able to get the game?
As of now, no official date is set in stone, but we have been told that it will be coming out this month on PC. You’ll be able to access the game on Steam, GOG, and Humble too. So, if you’re interested in spooking up your Christmas this year with Cthulu Saves Christmas, keep your eyes peeled!
