All new video games revealed at The Game Awards

The Game Awards were a welcome break from British politics last night, showing off some of the greatest games at their best. But it wasn’t just a celebration of the games we already know and love. Some brand new games were announced too, and boy, are we excited to play them.

There are some that we enjoyed more than others, but all of the games shown at The Game Awards looks to be very exciting. We’ll be showing off which was our favourite new games later on today.

As for now, here are all of the new games that were announced during this year’s Game Awards.

Godsfall

Godsfall is described as a looter slasher by Gearbox Publishing and Counterplay Games, the publisher and developer behind this new action RPG. We don’t know too much about the story, but what we do know is that it’ll be releasing on the PlayStation 5 sometime next year.

Humankind

Humankind was clearly inspired by the Civilization series, but that won’t stop Amplitude Studios. However, instead of taking control of a historical leader, you’ll be the one calling the shots with an avatar creation system. Cool!

Sons of the Forest

Remember that creepy game with all those long-legged creatures running up at you? Well, there seems to be more of that in the sequel to The Forest. However, unlike the previous game, this game seems to focus more on the narrative behind the happenings of The Forest.

The Wolf Among Us 2

After TellTale’s closure a year ago, fans were certain that would spell the end of a sequel for The Wolf Among Us. That doesn’t seem to be the case, however, as the Game Awards announced with a trailer that Bigby would be making his return after all.

Dark Alliance

Remember when we talked about a new D&D game being teased for The Game Awards? Well, Dark Alliance is it. It’s a co-op action RPG with a trailer that makes it look incredibly unappealing. But if you’re a fan of the character Drizzt, then this may be for you.

Weird West

A new studio called Wolfeye, made up of the teams behind Dishonored and Prey, has entered the fray. This time it’s to create a top-down Western RPG called Weird West, which looks a lot like it has the same vibe as Critical Role’s short tabletop series, Deadwood.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

Hellblade from Ninja Theory was critically acclaimed. Now it’s getting a sequel with Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. What’s more, the announcement was accompanied by the reveal of the Xbox Series X which is, uh, a name alright!

Maneater

No Nelly Furtado is not making a video game. Instead, you’ll play as a shark who just loves to eat people. After all, humans kill more sharks than sharks kill humans. It’s time to even the score.

Nine to Five

This new game is a team-based, tactical shooter with a 3-round, 3v3 format. We have no clue if it includes bunnies with guns or not, but we sure hope so.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story

We were already aware that League of Legends would be branching out to try a single-player game. Well, it turns out that means multiple single-player games. In this game, players will take the role of champions of LoL and explore the Shadow Isles.

Prologue

Prologue is a game from PUBG Corp, but that’s really all we know about it. It is supposedly a new, experimental project, though all we can really tell is that it’s set in a forest and we can hear dogs barking.

Naraka: Bladepoint

Chinese studio 24 Entertainment revealed a game where swords and cool armor reign supreme. This is a multiplayer game, but we aren’t too sure how it all works. But hey, at least it looks pretty!

New World

If you hadn’t tired of colonialist narratives before, then well, we guess you’re going to enjoy New World! This MMO is backed by Amazon Games, and will be releasing in May 2020.

CONV/RGENCE: A League of Legends Story

In this game, you’ll be playing as Ekko, who’s device can turn back time. Because we still haven’t learned how to title video games, this little beauty is yet another game that we’ll be struggling to remember how to stylize for the rest of our lives.

Fast & Furious Crossroads

Fast & Furious Crossroads is a game that looks incredibly dated, but offers up both guns and explosions. Both of which you can experience with your friends, so I guess you’re winning, somehow. Could have done without the transphobe on the stage, though.

Magic: Legends

Magic the Gathering had quite a few advertisements last night, but it was blown out of the water at the announcement of a new Magic MMO. Consider us excited!

And that was all of the new games announced at The Game Awards.

Now let’s finish off with an epic montage of all of the Game of the Year nominees. We promise there’s no spoilers.
