Pokemon Sword and Shield modder is adding cut Pokemon back in the games
A Pokemon Sword and Shield modder has taken the controversy of the National Dex into their own hands. As you may already know, a lot of Pokemon fans were left reeling when it was announced by developers Game Freak that not every Pokemon would be coming back.
This led to a lot of outrage, ranging from criticism that was well-thought out and delivered, to vitriol that escalated into death threats against Game Freak’s employees. It even got to the point that, for some reason or other, Donald Trump was petitioned to direct his wrath towards Game Freak and give them a good smiting.
Regardless of how you feel about the whole thing, it was a controversy that was hard to miss.
However, not all things are bad. Twitter user SciresM has stepped forward and decided to look on the bright side of life. They’ve taken the Pokemon Omastar, and with a little patience and hard work, have added it to Pokemon Sword and Shield.
Of course it’s not actually Omastar, SciresM has had to use a Yamper and replace its character model with the Omastar. It doesn’t mean that Yamper still isn’t in the game though because, as SciresM explains, the Omastar was “inserted into the model table using Omastar’s species ID.”
You can even see the Omastar in action yourself below.
As you can see, it isn’t perfect due to the lack of animations during battle, but the effort from this Pokemon Sword and Shield modder can hardly be understated. We can’t help but wonder what the next Pokemon will be, and whether SciresM will try and include every single Pokemon that was missed out.
