One Gamer Fund brings the industry together for annual fundraiser

The world could always use with more heroes, and we think that One Gamer Fund fits that bill perfectly. One Gamer Fund is an initiative that is committed to supporting AbleGamersChild’s PlayGames for ChangeGlobal Game JamIGDA FoundationStack-Up and Take This and, for the third year in a row, is offering an annual Steam sale for charity.

That’s not all though, for the first time ever, they’ll also be hosting a 24-hour livestream where streamers will be playing games for charity. So far, we know that streamers RaeyeitvgBadger and Jenosuke will grace the Twitch front page during the steam sale.

You can also donate to One Gamer Fund directly, without having to watch the streams.

Here are just some of the games that will be included in the sale:

  • Grim Fandango Remastered – 75% off
  • Galactic Civilizations III – 84% off
  • Neurovoider – 70% off
  • Tormentor X Punisher – 65% off
  • I am Bread – 60% off
  • Along Together – 60% off
  • Splasher – 60% off
  • Destination Ares – 56% off
  • Incredipede – 50% off
  • Bury Me, My Love – 40% off
  • Gang Beasts – 33% off

Fifty percent of proceeds raised during the One Gamer Fund Steam sale will be divided amongst the supported organizations, with the other half going to the developers and publishers. The full amount of donations via streams and PayPal will be split amongst the nonprofits, which will use the money received to help their charitable endeavors.

Executive producer of Global Game Jam, Jo Summers, had this to say.

“As gaming spreads to more people, so too do the benefits games provide. One Gamer Fund offers near endless possibilities for helping with mental health, bringing marginalized communities together, and much more. Each of the organizations benefiting from One Gamer Fund are working to make the industry and the world better, and it’s the generosity of gamers everywhere that fuels the good work these charities can do.”
