Cozy queer horror farming sim Grave Seasons confirms March 9 launch
A fresh look at new gameplay was dropped recently for the upcoming cozy horror game Grave Seasons from developers Perfect Garbage and publisher Blumhouse Games. If you ever dreamed of romancing your serial killer, this game is for you!
Grave Seasons combines all the usual cozy farming sim elements – narrative-driven story, relationship building and crop harvesting all wrapped up in a pixelated environment – but in a cool twist, there’s a serial killer on the loose who starts to pick off the townsfolk!
With dark secrets to uncover and gruesome killings to investigate, players must unravel the mystery unfolding in Ashenridge… before more lives are lost.

Of course, what pleases us the most is that Grave Seasons is proudly open about gender and sexuality expression with non-binary they/them pronouns available for your character and every romanceable villager is bi. But get those romances in quick before the serial killer strikes!
The blacksmith and carpenter are also married lesbians who run their businesses from the same shop, which is super cute and just adds to the wonderfully queer atmosphere.
There are 12 romance options available out of the 20+ residents of Ashenridge, and each one is fully open to your advances regardless of your character creator choices. You build bonds through dialogue, social interactions and present giving, but beware… you might just be romancing a serial killer!

With clever branching storylines, if your partner happens to be the active murdered, it opens a unique and morally complex storyline compared to a play through when your partner is just an innocent villager. If you’re romancing the killer, your actions might result in the deaths of other villagers which will alter other storylines and change the social fabric of the whole town.
Or, for all of you with Savior Complexes, you might even be able to stop the killing spree – the ultimate “I can heal them” moment!
Grave Seasons has confirmed it’s release date as March 9th, 2027. This comes after two previous slippages, with the game originally slated for August and then moved to Fall of this year. The developers have cited polishing and bug catching as the reason for the delay, especially with the console porting.

This is a highly anticipated game with over 750,000 people wishlists on Steam, so there’s no harm in taking a little more time to ensure the best possible version of this creepy/cozy game when it releases on Steam, XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
While we wait, the developers have shared a short tease of what’s to come with new footage for eagle-eyed fans to dig into. Perfect Garbage has also released a dev blog on Steam, breaking down the evolution of Grave Seasons from early prototypes to the hand-crafted, blood spattered farming sim we’ll be falling in love with.
Now excuse me, I’m off to get ready for romancing, harvesting and sleuthing!
Are those red flags I can hear fluttering in the wind?… I can heal them!
