Prophecy, Fear and Power: Netflix drops three new posters for The Witcher
The Witcher premieres on Netflix in two weeks time and to get us hyped even more, they’ve just dropped three amazing new posters of the main cast.
The posters were released on The Witcher’s official Twitter account (@WitcherNetflix) along with short poems about each character.
The first poster features Freya Allen as Princess Ciri with the poem “A runaway princess, and more than a prize, though her life has been changed by the Law of Surprise”. For spoiler reasons, we’ll stop short of saying why she’s important.
The second poster features Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, the titular witcher, with the poem “A witcher whose feats any bard would endorse, beholden to no one… ‘cept maybe his horse.” He can be seen with glowing eyes courtesy of his monster hunting mutant abilities.
The third poster features Anya Chalotra as the powerful sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg with the poem “A sorceress unafraid to put powers to use, or to have someone fetch her some fresh apple juice.” Yennefer is Geralt’s main love interest in the source material.
The posters don’t offer any new updates from what we learnt from the recent trailer and production stills, but they’re certainly doing their job of getting us hyped!
Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
The Witcher premieres on 20th December on Netflix.
