Sex is the easiest way to grind in Starfield
Bethesda’s sci-fi hit Starfield isn’t just a space RPG that has you exploring the galaxy; it also allows you to form bonds with other characters through dialogue, quest completion, and, well, sex.
As originally reported by VG24/7, having sex is the most overpowered thing you can do in Starfield. Why? Because having sex gives players a bonus effect to players. Just like in real life!
The bonus effect in question is called ‘Emotional Security’, and it boosts XP gains by 15% for 24 real-time minutes. Bethesda has always implemented a bonus effect on characters who sleep next to their love interest, such as in Fallout 4 with ‘Lover’s Embrace’ and Skyrim’s ‘Well-Rested’.
Starfield’s is a little different, and to be honest, a much better bonus effect — though with some caveats. For one, you’re unable to sleep around with just anyone in Starfield, so sex can only happen with your love interest.
The other issue is that you can only have sex after marrying your love interest. Sex before marriage? Not in space!
Don’t fret, though, because getting your love interest to fall for you isn’t all that hard in Starfield. All you need to do is not be a dickhead, which should be easy to do, but if you’re struggling with that, then our advice is simply to be nice to people and don’t shoot innocents. No assassinating the President and all that jazz.
Of course, if you’re not into romance at all — and why would you be, none of them will compare to your left hand, right? — then you’re not left without anything at all. Far from it! Sleeping in a bed by yourself will give you ‘Well Rested,’ an effect that gives you a 10% EXP bonus. Considering there’s so much to explore in Starfield, with so many different quests too, it makes sense why you would want as much bonus EXP as possible.
Starfield is available to play now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
