Lovebirb gives a whole new meaning to lovebirds
What’s a bird to do when their lover flies the nest? Well, according to Lovebirb it’s this: find the next best thing and get on swiping left and right!
Lovebirb from developer Anonymous Penguin Studio is a rhythm-based dating game about finding love after your boyfriend Wyatt leaves you out in the cold. Players will have to chat to their potential lovers on Bumbird, the hottest bird dating app, and swipe right if they’re impressed by more than just their tailfeathers.
Once you’ve picked the right bird for you – and, yes, there are male and female birds – you head on straight to date night! You need to seduce and woo your dates by pressing the right arrow keys to the rhythm of the music. Depending on what you want to say, some conversations will be harder to hit than others, but as long as you have the rhythm you should be fine.
Having had the pleasure of playing the demo of Lovebirb, we can confirm that what we’ve seen so far is delightful. A combination of aves puns, a ridiculously catchy beat, and some cute birds to get to know makes this rhythm-based dating game a whimsical experience.
And fret not, if you’re not all that attuned to rhythm or dating games, Lovebirb‘s intro will help you be free of all those pre-date jitters. Just make sure your fingers are on the beat and versatile, because as we’ve always said, the more flexible you are, the better your date will be.
We also promise that this game is nothing like Hatoful Boyfriend and there is no secret murder option. At least, we don’t think so. Just good ol’ bird fun.
The game releases for PC on March 15. But, until then, you can play Lovebirb’s demo for yourself over on Steam.
