Jodie Comer and David Harbour to star in new horror game
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, David Harbour of Stranger Things fame said that he and Killing Eve star Jodie Comer will be starring in a currently unannounced horror video game.
“I actually have one coming out,” Harbour said in the Sports Illustrated interview. “Me and Jodie Comer did a video game. That’ll be coming out… I think it’s next year. A horror game.”
Both David Harbour and Jodie Comer has previously discussed their love of video games with the media. Harbour is currently helping Blizzard to promote World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, because the game “ruined” his life back in his younger days, according to his extended interview with SI. He also spoke about his love of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Dark Souls series.
Comer, meanwhile, used video games to help prepare for her role in video game-inspired movie Free Guy. Comer played Molotov girl, who is main character Guy’s (played by Ryan Reynolds) romance interest. In an interview with Asia One, Comer spoke about how she prepared for this role by playing games. According to Comer, the production staff on the film gave her an Xbox and some games to play as homework. Particularly, she “took Grand Theft Auto too seriously.”
We currently don’t have any further details about what this game will be, or even which studio/publisher is behind it. This year’s Game Awards are coming up though, which may provide an announcement opportunity for the project. It would make sense, given that Harbour told Sports Illustrated he thinks the game will launch some time next year. If it doesn’t get announced at the Game Awards, we would have to imagine news will come out some time next year.
