Girls love VN Coquette Dragoon -Volume 1 is now out in early access
On Tuesday evening, developer burgeroise announced that the first two chapters of their “girls love, alternative mecha” visual novel series Coquette Dragoon are now available in early access. The early access build also includes a preview of the third chapter. The game is specifically 18+ and has a warning to read at your own discretion, as it includes “dark/suggestive” themes. Its full release is planned for sometime later this year.

In Coquette Dragoon, players follow the rabbit-eared girl Xio. Since she was born, she has been cursed with misfortune, but everything changes when she suddenly becomes a dragoon pilot – a job only one in every ten thousand people qualify for. Xio grew up in a completely different environment from her new dragoon peers; she spent time in broken down ships that didn’t even have gravity, while they are natives to the capital. With her new position, Xio is forced to reckon with conflicts within herself as she is asked to accept the comfortable life she always dreamed of at the price of working the job she wants least. Meanwhile, on the other side of the war, players will also watch Honey and Bell’s story unfold. The pair live in a rigid aristocratic society that both are desperately trying to escape.
Coquette Dragoon was originally created as a comic and will ultimately be a serialized visual novel that combines its 2D elements with 3D animation after the third chapter. This will be focused on immersing the player in Xio’s experience as a fledgling dragoon pilot and her building relationship with the unfeeling war machine she’s partnered with.
