Is there romance in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes?
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes adds a new and exciting chapter to the setting of Three Houses, only this time there are a few changes – including how romance and relationships are handled.
If you’re wondering if you can partake in a few cheeky kisses or a Netflix and chill with the other characters in Three Hopes, then you really aren’t the only ones. In the previous Fire Emblem Warriors game, there were no romance options, but there are supports. Supports are conversations that happen between characters that help build up relationships narratively, as well as having the added benefit of improving the value of combat when the two characters are near one another on the battlefield.
Unfortunately, the supports in the original Warriors are quite limited, with some characters not being able to interact at all, with only a C support being included for combat purposes.
But does this apply to romance and supports in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes?
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Romance Guide – Is there romance in Three Hopes?
Unfortunately, despite a lot of explicit conversations about romance and marriage that happens in the game, you are unable to actively pursue a romance with anyone as the main protagonist, Shez. This means that, no matter how many times you hand your favourite character some Owl Feathers, they really just aren’t that into you.
This is a major difference from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, as Byleth was able to romance the majority of the characters they could talk to, achieved by getting their S-Support at the very end of the game.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Romance Guide – Are there paired endings in Three Hopes?
Paired endings in Fire Emblem are one of the most rewarding parts of getting to the very end, simply because you can see what your favourite characters have gone on to do in the end-game.
Yet, much like the original Warriors, there are no paired endings in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Personally speaking, we think this is a downright shame considering how popular the paired endings in Three Houses were. However, considering that there are only so many supports you can get between characters, we assume it wouldn’t make sense to have paired endings, after all.
Still, there are support conversations, as well as moments, between characters that do imply there is something romantic there. However, these relationships do not impact the story in any way, shape, or form.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Romance Guide – What is the Merc Whistle?
While there is no romance in-game, Shez is able to express their affection in a way that’s outside of support conversations and expeditions. We are, of course, talking about a unique item for Shez – The Merc Whistle.
The Merc Whistle is a special item that can only be given to a character once you reach A-Support with them, so make sure you grind by giving them gifts or going out on expeditions with them. Once that’s done, you can give your favourite character the whistle, which will unlock a special scene where they send you a letter. This letter isn’t romantic by nature, but it’s a small and sweet moment all the same.
Still, while there isn’t any romance in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, there is plenty to experience for yourself in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. And if you’re still not satisfied, then don’t worry and trust us when we say this game is for the bisexuals.
