YouTube talent show uTure looks to find the next big gaming content creator

uTure is a brand new global talent show that aims to find the next generation of content creators focused specifically on gaming.

Created by YouTube gaming creator Ali-A (who joined YouTube back in 2006) and sponsored by YouTube, the goal of uTure is to find the next breakout YouTube gaming creator and make them a star. How they’ll be doing that is through judging, with more than 10 of the world’s biggest YouTube gaming content creators coming together to judge and analyze contestants taking part. Contestants will compete in a series of challenges until one of them wins, taking home the $100,00 cash prize to help them on their way to becoming a big gaming content creator.

The uTure show will be hosted by Ali-A and will feature huge YouTube creators from around the world to act as judges, such as:

  • LilSimsie – A significant figurehead in The Sims community, LilSimsie has taken on everything The Sims can throw at her for the last 7 years – from building challenges to legacy creations, LilSimsie knows all about how to entertain an audience.
  • Lachlan – An Australian YouTuber with witty Fortnite content, Lachlan has spent the last 9 years building a fantastic reputation for incredible gaming playthroughs that’ll teach you a thing or two

However, the uTure show doesn’t just stop at giving a prize away. It will also look to support rising talent from across the globe, helping unite communities together.

Gaming content creators are who are interested in being part of the show will need to submit their application in English as a YouTube short – a 60 seconds short video similar to that of TikTok – and see if they have what it takes to impress the judges and earn their place as 1 of the top 10 finalists. It is these finalists that will then take part in the show. Submissions will open up at 6pm BST, and will close on the 8th of May, 2022.

Once the top 10 contestants are chosen, they will face weekly content creation challenges over 9 weeks – all hosted exclusively on the uTure channel. They will be then scored by judges, who will provide a score, as well as constructive feedback for each contestant, helping them hone their skills week after week. Then the judges, as well as Ali-A will decide which contestants make it to the next round of the show. The uTure show will broadcast sometime in June, with episodes happening on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

“YouTube is home to tens of thousands of brilliant gaming creators that haven’t yet been discovered. It’s my hope that uTure will give all these creative individuals their moment to shine and learn from gaming veterans in the space in front of YouTube’s millions-strong global audience,” said Ali-A. “Thank you to YouTube for supporting this idea and best of luck to everyone who enters!”

You can watch the uTure Show exclusively on the talent show’s official channel. To find out more information, head to the official uTure website.
