Dungeon Bitches is about queer women banding together, trauma and survival
Hey kids, do you want to play a diceless role-playing game (DRPG) called Dungeon Bitches where the world is not polite, everything is out to kill you, and you’re part of a band of queer women who have to stick together in order to survive the violence that’s around every corner?
We assume the answer is yes.
In the setting of Emily F Allen’s Dungeon Bitches, the world is a cold and unforgiving entity, which has left you with no place to call your own, no place where you fit. That’s why you must band together with others like you, who just so happen to be queer women, and scrape yourself a place where you belong.
Your task of finding yourself and your fellow queer sisters a place to call home won’t be easy, but at least it won’t be a lonely one. That’s what found family is all about.
Dungeon Bitches features:
- Powered by the Apocalypse Mechanics (Monsterhearts, Dungeon World) built to help form sapphics bonds
- Detailed rules for romance, sexuality, and intimacy that’s fully inclusive of ace and arospec Bitches
- Comprehensive coverage of safe playing practices and tools
- Twelve different Deals, each grappling with their own traumas
- A space for visceral catharsis in the face of abuse and oppression
- Drop tables for generating horrid towns and harrowing (but weirdly hot) dungeons
- A full page of a fantasy HRT regimen
- A rulebook layout that looks like a medieval riot grrrl zine full to bursting with intense art depicting scenes of both touching intimacy and grisly violence
Dungeon Bitches will be looking at some incredibly heavy topics, but there is joy amongst the survival and misery and, more importantly, the DRPG is very, very gay.
