Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise DLC gives you a job
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the game that we needed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now the series is looking to expand even more with the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Paradise DLC.
The Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise DLC was revealed in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct, where players got the chance to see what new content would be added to the game in the future. The answer was simple: a hell of a lot, with the free update alone showing that there would be new activities, such as yoga and going on a beautiful sailboat tour, as well as the return of a familiar face. Yes indeed, Brewster and his wonderful coffee is coming back.
The Direct for Animal Crossing looked as though it was going to end, with Nintendo clarifying that this next update would be the last major free update available. However, fans who stuck around after the screen went dark was treated with something special: the reveal of a paid DLC that lets you go to work.
That might not sound too exciting at first – after all, how can work be exciting, right? – but the work you’ll be focusing on this time around is decorating vacation homes for different villagers, some who will be familiar to you, whereas others you’ll never have seen before.
Players will be working alongside Lottie, a cute little Otter from Happy Home Design, as well as other NPCs to create the perfect home for different folks. In the Direct we saw that Maple wanted a home that used three special items, as well as a certain environment and vibe, meaning that players need to look at the task presented to them and create a home that suits Maple’s needs.
Designing vacation homes isn’t the only thing you can do. Players will also be able to design different facility buildings such as restaurants, schools, and even hospitals if you so choose. What’s more, islanders will be able to visit and interact with these venues, giving you more opportunities to interact with the world around you.
So what does it cost? Well, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Paradise will cost you £22.49 / $24.99, but you can also get the DLC alongside your subscription of Nintendo Switch Online, and the added Expansion Pack. With this option, it will cost £39.99 / $49.99 a year for an individual subscription, or £59.99 / $79.99 for a family plan subscription.
The new free update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as the paid DLC, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Paradise, will be available on November 5th, 2021.
