Take a peek at the gameplay of the new Saints Row
The new Saints Row is only a few months away, and we’re excited to jump into the world of Santo Ileso and start our very own gang with The Saints. What’s made this even more of a harder wait, however, is seeing the gameplay of the new Saints Row in action.
One word to describe it? Wow.
In an exclusive look, Volition has teamed up with Game Informer to show off a quick 2-minute look at the desert city of Santo Ileso. You can check out the video for yourself below, and not to be cheesy, but we think it looks pretty breathtaking.
Santo Ileso isn’t a real place by any means, but Volition has cooked up a land of crime in the setting of the American Southwest – something which we don’t think even Grand Theft Auto have done just yet, either. It’s a new, exciting world and we’re really digging how lush and vibrant the world looks. Seriously, go check the video out below already!
The footage shown for the new Saints Row is currently pre-alpha gameplay, meaning that like most things in game development, things may change at release. Still, it’s an inviting look at the world we’ll be running amok in when we finally get to play the reboot.
One of the things we noticed is that getting into a car whilst running seems to play the same animation as it did in previous Saints Row games, which is a nice little callback. It also seems as though the Boss’ head follows your camera if you tilt it a certain way. It’s not anything groundbreaking, but these nice little touches are appreciated.
