Have you ever wanted to date a monster boy but, despite many times of trying to get Cthulhu to use their tentacles in a more promising and interactive way, have only been let down? Developed by Man-Eater Games, Monstrous Lovers follows protagonist Christopher Wells. Christopher is a reserved, young office worker whose main job as a government employee is to ensure that human and monster relations are peaceful. However, things have become stagnant and so Christopher decides that the only way to improve himself is to move to Saint George – a city that’s monster population is the highest in the country.
That said, on his arrival to the Saint George office Christopher quickly discovers two things: this place is severely understaffed and not everyone is all that pleased to be working alongside a human. Especially one that works for the government…
But it isn’t all that bad. Christopher has plenty of love interests to steal his attention away. You first have Vincent, a rocker-boy vampire that looks like he’s fond of the word darling, sweet and cuddly werewolf Ben, toilet-paper wrapped mummy (or daddy?) Sebastian and gold-plated Isaac…who may be an android?
Ultimately, Monstrous Lovers is a game that explores themes of identity, finding a place where you can feel like you truly belong and the length that people will go to in order to reach their goals. It sounds pretty exciting!
