Judgment 2 aka Lost Judgment to release in September
Judgment 2, aka Lost Judgment, is set to release on the PS4/PS5 sometime in September.
This news comes from the game’s official website, where they announced the game. It looks like once again we’ll be hanging around with Takayuki Yagami, a lawyer-turned-detective who lives in the district of Kamurocho. Only this time, it looks like we’ll be heading to a familiar place: Yokohama.
Fans of Yakuza: Like A Dragon will recognize that place from their adventures with Ichiban and his crew, and it seems that Yagami will be heading on over there too. But don’t worry, he’ll be going in between Kamurocho and Yokohama.
For this game, Yagami and his partner Masaharu Kaito – an ex-yakuza – will focus on a possible murder.
The Judgment series takes place in the same universe as Yakuza, but focuses more on the detective/lawyer side of things and – if we’re being honest – is much darker in tone. It does have its silly moments, but they are far and few between.
The game originally leaked on the PS Store last night (thanks Gfinity!) and showed off the rather meme-y looking Judgment 2 cover of Yagami trying to… escape something? It’s honestly not all that clear, but we do love to see Yagami trying his best to yeet himself out of the ‘inner box of his despair’ or something equally poetic.
Judgment 2 also looks like it’ll be adapting a new feature – early access. While we don’t feel as though it’ll be the early access of games like Baldur’s Gate 3, aka it’s riddled with bugs and you’ll need to point them out to help the game reach its full potential, it does sounds like an exciting new method from studio Ryu Ga Gotoku.
Judgment 2 aka Lost Judgment will release worldwide on September 24th, 2021.
