Nintendo Switch update lets you transfer screenshots and videos straight to your mobile
As someone who has reviewed and done guides for Nintendo Switch, the fact of the matter is that it is almost ridiculous how much you need to do in order to your screenshots and videos onto your PC. Why can’t we just do one or two steps? Well you see, that’s where the new Nintendo Switch update comes in.
This new Nintendo Switch update adds a lot of cool things, such as prioritizing downloads and adding new player icons – but the one thing that sticks out the most is that you’re able to transfer your screenshots onto smart devices like your mobile phone.
It’s a pretty big deal, as while it can only be 10 screenshots and 1 video capture at a time, just think of all the memes that you can send to someone in just a blink of an eye. If you ask us, we’ve got our priorities straight!
To send the screenshots and video captures to your smart device, you’ll need to do the following things:
- From the HOME Menu, select Album, then select a screenshot or video capture.
- Select Posting and Editing, then select Send to Smart Device.
- Select Send Individually or Send Multiple.
- Using the camera on your smart device, scan the QR Code displayed on the Nintendo Switch console. If the smart device is unable to connect to the Nintendo Switch console, try scanning the QR Code again.
- If you are unable to scan the QR Code, this information may be helpful.
- Once the connection is established, the screenshots and/or videos will be sent to the smart device and the thumbnail(s) will be displayed on the smart device. – Via Nintendo UK.
For guide writers out there, we hope that you in particular are hyped for new ways to get your pictures out in the wild. For the rest of us though? We’re just glad we don’t have to rely on a USB all the time – those things are easy to lose, y’know?
