Alanah Pearce hosts the Video Game Accessibility Awards
On November 15th, Alanah Pearce has stepped up to create and host the very first Video Games Accessibility Awards. Accessibility has been a hot topic among video games for a while, but an awards show celebrating accessibility in games? This has never been done before in the history of gaming.
Pearce consulted with AbleGamer’s COO Steven Spohn consulted with to bring the Video Game Accessibility Awards to life, and it had a fantastic reception – earning over 20k views throughout the 2 hours it aired.
The awards showcased video games and game companies that were making the effort to make video games have better accessibility options. Whether it be making hard of hearing options available, or allowing you to change the text size within a game, the effort was recognized and spotlighted by the awards.
There were a number of different categories, such as Clear Text, Improved Precision, Do More With Less and Same Controls but Different. Here are the winners of each category:
