Read the first dino-hunting preview of the Horizon: Zero Dawn comic
Publisher Titan Comics has revealed the first preview of its upcoming comic book sequel to Sony’s hit sci-fi adventure game, Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Unusually, the five-page preview doesn’t seem to be sequential pages – it appears the publisher is trying to keep the key events of the comic, which takes place between the events of the original Horizon: Zero Dawn and the recently announced Horizon: Forbidden West, under wraps. Instead, it offers a disconnected glimpse of what readers can expect when the first issue goes on sale on 5th August.
The official description for the series reads: “Titan’s new Horizon: Zero Dawn comic book series – co-created by Anne Toole, one of the writers of Horizon: Zero Dawn, with artwork by fan-favorite artist Ann Maulina – takes place after the events of the game as Talanah, a strong and determined hunter, struggles to find purpose after her trusted friend Aloy disappears. When a mysterious threat emerges in the wilds, she sets out to hunt and to defeat it, only to learn that a whole new breed of killer machines stalk the land!”

Six variant covers for the series, including art by the likes of Stanley ‘Artgerm’ Lau, Peach Momoko, and Ann Maulina herself, were revealed back in May.
The first issue of the series will be on sale 5th August, available in print from comic book stores, or digitally via Comixology. If you want an earlier slice of robo-dino hunting though, a free issue zero will be available exclusively from comic book stores on 22nd July.
