GGP Virtual Pride Festival
GGP Virtual Pride Festival is happening this weekend, 19-21 June all across their channels and beyond on the internet! It’s a celebration of queer pride, history and gaming culture.
GGP (or Gay Gaming Professionals) is the premier group for LGBTQ games industry workers both online and with physical events. The latter is obviously impacted right now, so the move to the online space made the most sense for this amazing group.
Across the weekend, they have separated out their activities into five key areas.
Learn Something
GGP will explore topics in Queer History, kicking off with their Grand Marshall, Cleve Jones (AIDS Quilt, “When We Rise”). They will also honour the diverse voices of queer people, female, and POC thought leaders in the gaming industry through webinars, panels, and guest speakers.
Win Something
GGP will be hosting interactive sessions through the weekend where they will be giving away FREE GAME CODES from some of today’s top games (Resident Evil, Last of Us 2, and more!) brought to you by GGP’s gaming partners.
Be Entertained
GGP have plenty of excitement packed into the weekend including a virtual immersive dance party and the chance to watch indie games played on their “Gong Show”
Make A Friend
All of GGP’s platforms (Zoom Webinar, Twitch Stream, and Facebook Live) allow they gaymer community to connect, chat, and make a new friend!
Give
GGP have been fortunate to provide this event FREE of cost. They would love to invite you to donate to their Scholarship Fund, where they provide scholarship funds to queer students looking to pursue a career in the gaming/interactive media industry. It will also be possible to purchase a GGP Pride Pin, in partnership with Pinny Arcade, giving you the opportunity to cherish your first virtual pride with GGP!
