Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Everything we know so far

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was officially announced yesterday, and today we were blessed with a trailer from Odin himself. A Viking Assassin’s Creed has been one of the settings that have been asked for plenty of times by the Assassin’s Creed community, but now it’s actually happening. To say we’re pumped is an understatement.

As you historian buffs out there already know, Vikings is a broad term and what makes a Viking, well, a Viking, differs depending on who you ask. For this game however, it looks as though players will be taking on the role of Eivor (who can be male or female) in their quest against conquering Britain. King Alfred of Wessex also looks to be making an appearance.

From the cinematic trailer, we can tell that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla wants to show a portrayal of Vikings that isn’t just black and white. Some Vikings were brutal, others were loving and caring and wanted nothing more but to settle. Where Eivor fits in on that sort of scale remains to be seen.

Thanks to Eurogamer, we know more than a few new things about what we can expect from Assassin’s Cred Valhalla.

  • Eivor is the protagonist’s name.
  • Eivor is not a set character like Kassandra and Alexios — you can customize how they look to suit you.
  • There will be a focus on building your Viking settlement. This will be your home.
  • Romances will return.
  • This game is a single-player RPG.
  • Scandinavia, Norway, Britain and some other mysterious places will be a part of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
  • You’ll have a raven as an animal companion.
  • King Alfred isn’t a ‘typical’ villain.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Google Stadia during the Holidays 2020.

  • After so many almost the same AC games I hope this one will be different and less boring, I would also like to have some companions with me, it’s time to be creative Ubi common..
In regards of romances.. I hope there will be LBGT and more deep than those in AC Odyssey.
