Animal Crossing Official Guide confirms CJ and Flick aren’t a couple, but ‘roommates’
Animal Crossing has made us question the relationship between CJ and Flick for some time now, but sadly an unfortunate truth has been revealed.
According to the official Animal Crossing guide, CJ and Flick are roommates, not romantic partners. Just two guys being dudes, two dudes being guys. They aren’t gay, they just live together and are partners, thus dashing our hopes that Animal Crossing New Horizons really did just say ‘gay rights‘ in the year 2020.
This news comes via Dualshockers, who posted an official image from the Animal Crossing official guide that highlighted what sort of relationship CJ and Flick have with one another. The heterosexual nature of it all is just too much, my dear reader.
Of course, you could argue that puts the end of the discussion of whether Flick and CJ are romantic partners or not, but consider this: roommates and business partners can also be happily married, thank you very much. Which makes sense, because while Nintendo may be willing to hide the truth, we are 100% certain that CJ and Flick are happily married and have a water bed full of fish together.
In all seriousness though, while it’s a shame that the relationship between these two have been corrected, it shouldn’t stop fans from having fun with it all the same. We know we won’t stop wishing that one day CJ and Flick will invite us to their wedding, and you shouldn’t either.
Because come on, what’s more romantic than ‘oh my god, they were roommates?’ Nothing.
