Streamer of the Week

Streamer of the Week: Ravynia

Welcome to Streamer of the Week, where we highlight an awesome LGBTQ+ streamer for you to check out and follow. This week it’s Ravynia!

Every week we ask the same questions, so you are able to get a snapshot of their streaming likes, style and persona.

Here’s this week’s quick-fire intro to Ravynia:

Name

Ravynia

Identity & Pronouns

[she/her] Cis Bisexual Latina

What kind of games do you primarily stream?

RPG, Indie, Horror, Simulation, Strategy, Action/Adventure, Cozy

What specific games can your audience expect to see when you stream?

I’m a Palia partner and stream the game weekly, but I also love the indie gaming community! We have a new indie game of the week every week, and I feature it on Monday night. I think that indie gaming is the heart of our industry, forcing the big companies to be more innovative!

What’s the most memorable moment you’ve had on stream?

This is so hard, because every time I think it couldn’t get better than this, my community does something NEW to blow me away. Very truthfully, I don’t think it’s just one moment-one charity event, one milestone celebration, one overly generous gift – it’s what they all do daily not just for me, but for each other. The inside jokes that fly back and forth in chat, the exchange of support when they need it…those are the things that make me the most emotional. It’s not always the big things, it’s the little things that happen every day because we all found each other.

If you could collaborate with any other streamer, who would it be and why?

I mean, if Felicia Day wanted to do a co-op stream of some cool indie to help it drive sales, I’d literally drop everything!

What is your favorite game of all time and why?

Just ONE? Well, when I started really becoming a gamer I was a first person shooter girl. I didn’t realize the heartache I could feel from gaming until I played the Gears of War series. I feel like the writers of Gears made a very ‘cool’ package – big muscles and chainsaw guns – and then surprised the audience by creating characters that were nuanced, unique and sometimes even fragile. I cried harder during Gears 3 than I ever had before from a video game, and Dominic Santiago is still my favorite video game character to date.

How would you describe your streaming style in three words?

Chatty, Unpredictable, Expressive!

What is your streaming schedule?

Monday 5PM EST
Tuesday 2PM EST
Thursday – New Video On YouTube
Friday 2PM EST
Saturday 2PM EST

Where can people find you?

Anything else you’d like to add?

Seeing as this is Gayming Magazine, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the wonderful queer-led audio drama I’m blessed to be a part of. The Night Shift is a pulp fiction audio drama, set in an urban fantasy world inhabited by people with extraordinary powers both natural and artificial. I voice ‘Dagger’, an underground mob boss and…well, sociopath. Getting to voice a badass queer character that is written by an amazing queer-led writing team has been a dream and a deep honor of my life. I’m so excited to dive more into her story in season 2, currently in production!
