Dead by Daylight new chapter ‘Sinister Grace’ is coming soon!
A new chapter is coming to Dead by Daylight, and it is gruesome. The Dead by Daylight: Sinister Grace features a new killer, The Krasue, and survivor, Vee Bonnyasak.
By day, The Krasue appears to be a normal woman, but transforms into a ghastly, disembodied head of a woman with her entrails hanging from her neck. The origin of The Krasue stems from Thai, Cambodian, and Laotian mythology, with each culture having a slight variation on her reasoning and methodology for satisfying her gluttony. In Thai folklore, The Krasue is under a curse that makes her hunger for flesh and blood. Her curse becomes active at night as she goes out to satisfy her extreme, gruesome needs. She’d prey on animals and humans, then, when done with her meal, wipe herself down with linens she’d find hanging outside to dry.
This feels like Dead by Daylight’s goriest chapter, as The Krasue’s transformation is disturbing and detailed. Her name is Burong Sukapat, who was working hard to get ahead in life and pursue her dreams of becoming a star. One night, she received a sinister offer that, in exchange for success and fulfilling her dream of being on stage, another would take over her body at night. In that moment, being offered a chance to fulfill her dreams blinded her to the gravity of what she would be giving up. While she did receive attention from directors, offers to perform, and success in her roles, she soon realized the cost of her bargain. One day, she woke up soaked in blood, surrounded by animal carcasses, and was horrified by the scene.
Under a scalding hot shower, she coughed up blood haunted by events of the night before. She called her friend Janjira and told her she’d been sleep walking every night and needed someone to help her remain in bed and Janjira agreed to help. Burong was unable to tell Janjira the full truth of the situation, but figured having a friend present could possibly help prevent the horrors she was experiencing once she went to sleep. Ultimately, that is not what came to pass as Burong awoke to her friend’s disemboweled carcass. After cleaning up the bloody scene Burong returned to the person she made this tragic deal with, and they explained that the only way to rid themselves of the curse was to pass it along to someone else. In blind rage, Burong tore chunks of flesh from her neck and body, her entrails vibrating inside her, as her head left her body floating in the air, dragging her organs behind. Burong swooped in and killed the woman who cursed her and felt no regret for what she had done.
Shortly after Burong received a called from a director offering her a leading role in a play which she accepted gleefully. And while she was fulfilling her dream of stardom, it became apparent it was not enough, as the creature inside stirred for more carnage.

The Krasue forms, her human form and floating head, offers unique methods for players to hunt survivors. As a floating head, The Krasue can use her intestinal whip to strike survivors while having increased speed in this form. While on foot, in her human form, The Krasue can lurch a projectile at survivors and infect them with the Leeching Gland, which will make survivors more vulnerable to the intestinal whip attack.
Her 3 perks include:
- Hex: Overture of Doom: curses the furthest generator, that when repaired transfers the Killer’s terror radius to the survivor, sending them into a panic. While survivors are panicking, the killer will become undetectable.
- Ravenous: Once each survivor has been hooked at least once, each survivor will scream and gain the exposed status allowing the killer to wreak havoc during the match
- Wandering Eye: While chasing a Survivor, the Killer will see the aura of all nearby survivors

The Sinister Grace Chapter will also introduce a new survivor, Vee Boonyasak. Vee Boonyasak is a drummer for Axekick who’s rock and roll soul brings life to the stage and her art. Axekick decides to perform at an abandoned opera house and takes to the stage to give the performance of a lifetime. Unbeknownst to them, this is the same stage Burong Sukapat once took and she eventually appears. Caught up in the moment of performing Vee Boonyasak did not notice the encroaching fog encapsulating her during her epic drum solo as the crowd fades away.
Vee Boonyasak’s Perks are:
- Ghost Notes: allows survivors to recover from exhaustion faster and their scratch marks will disappear faster.
- Road Life: completing great skill checks while repairing a generation injured earns survivors tokens, which can be spent to heal a health state.
- ONE-TWO-THREE-FOUR: If you hear Vee yell out “ONE-TWO-THREE-FOUR”, it will inspire your teammates giving them a bunch of skill checks
The Sinister Grace chapter feels robust and full of incredible lore. While there are bugs that will more than likely be ironed out based on feedback from the PTB. Exploring stories outside of Eurocentric mythology is always a breath of fresh air, especially when it comes to horror. The time, research and care put into this chapter feels authentic and intentional, which is something Dead by Daylight/Behaviour Interactive Inc. always tries to improve on with each iteration that is added to the game.
Sinister Grace full release will be coming in September 2025. See you in the fog!
