Star Wars returns to Fortnite ready for Star Wars Day celebrations
Fortnite Update 29.40 ushers in an amazing array of Star Wars-themed content across all of its connected game modes, including Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing, ready for May the Fourth celebrations.
The festivities will begin on May 3 and will encompass every branch of the Fortnite universe through the upcoming v29.40 update.
LEGO Fortnite will add a new island filled with famous Rebellion and Empire ships, where players will be able to battle Imperial forces and defend a Rebel village with Lightsabers, Bowcasters, DL-44 Blasters, E-11 Blasters, and Thermal Detonators!
While aiding the Rebellion, make progress in the LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure and enjoy unlockable in-game rewards like the “Tatooine Turret and Tanks Bundle,” “Mos Eisley Blue Milk Bar Bundle,” and more!
The LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure is available to progress in until July 23, 2024, at 8 AM ET. There’s so much to see and do in LEGO Fortnite that there’s a whole blog post to check out.
In Battle Royale, Chewbacca has been captured and it’s up to you to rescue him! To save him from the claws of the Empire, you’ll need to head to a specific Imperial Roadblock (the one he’s at changes each match). Chewbacca will cheer after being liberated, then follow you into battle with his trusty Bowcaster, and you get your own Bowcaster as a reward too!
Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers will also be returning to the Battle Royale Island in the Lambda Shuttle too. Defeat Vader in battle and you’ll be able to pick up his Lightsaber – use it to block incoming fire and swing at enemies, and even throw it at your opponents!
Battle Royale’s Star Wars Quests will be released in two phases during the crossover: the first on May 3 at 9 AM ET and the second at 9 AM ET on May 7.
Over in Fortnite Festival, you can get your galactic groove on with a Mos Eisley Cantina-inspired setting. There you can create your own version of the famous cantina band by getting up on stage with your friends, or just chill out and appreciate some sandy songs.
You can unlock the Seven-string Hallikset Guitar by completing seven of Fortnite Festival’s Star Wars Quests. These Quests go live 9 AM ET on May 3. For completing just four, you’ll unlock a Battle Pass Level Up.
Star Wars also comes to Rocket Racing with Star Wars Quests flipping into Rocket Racing on May 3 at 9 AM ET, and more at 9 AM ET on May 7. Complete seven of these Quests to unlock a Battle Pass Level Up and 14 to unlock the podracing-inspired Energy Binders Trail.
There will also be special ‘May the Fourth Quests’, and if you complete four to unlock Anakin’s Podracer Decal and eight to unlock the Darth Maul Decal! Drive over to the dark side of the track.
Lastly, a load of Star Wars items will be entering the Fortnite Shop including new outfits based on Dagobah Luke, Lando Calrissian and AWR Trooper; the Beskar Car Body, which also grants the car for Rocket League players; the “Mad About Me” (a.k.a. “Cantina Band”) Jam Track; and more!
Star Wars lands in the Fortnite universe on May 3, just in time for Star Wars Day. May the Force be with you.
