Minthara fans can finally kiss their favourite drow in Baldur’s Gate 3

Larian Studios has released its latest Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix, and boy, is it a good day for those out there hungry for a kiss from Minthara.

Alongside fixing scripting issues, making bosses like Cazador even harder than before, and doing some general tweaking, Larian has also given Minthara fans a little treat: a kiss option!

Fans of Larian’s ridiculously large RPG will know that once you’re able to get closer to your favourite romance companion, you’ll be able to ask them for a little smooch on and off the field.

What’s more, the majority of these kisses are unique. Astarion’s is a passionate kiss, Karlach cradles her forehead against yours, and Wyll twirls you around like you’re a Disney prince/princess. It’s all very romantic, and thinking about them too long has the likely side effect of making you kick your legs and giggle. Trust me on this.

However, one companion was unable to be kissed outside of unique scenes at the start and end of their romance: everyone’s favourite drow, Minthara.

I assume that the reason for Minthara not being down to clown whenever possible is most likely due to some bug, one that has now been fixed in the latest hotfix. So now when you want to give her a smooch, all you need to do is ask.

Of course, this is Minthara we’re talking about. If you keep kissing her enough times, you’ll get the chance to tell her that you felt a little funny after one of her kisses. Funny as in you were poisoned. There’s nothing more funny than kissing the girl of your dreams and getting a little feverish, after all.

Indeed, if you bring it up to Minthara she’ll even tell you herself that she had a little poison on her lips beforehand. But don’t worry, she’s not trying to kill you. Quite the opposite. She’s trying to build up your immune system so if an enemy were to sneak something into your food, you’d be able to withstand it. The sweetest Romance Option award goes to?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available to play now for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
