Magical roguelite Spells & Secrets gets official release date

On Tuesday, Alchemist Interactive and rokaplay announced that their upcoming “comfort roguelite” Spells & Secrets will be launching for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on November 9.

“If you’ve always wanted to be a wizarding student with magical powers, if you love to explore fantastic worlds and uncover hidden mysteries, Spells & Secrets is the perfect game for you,” the game’s Steam page reads.

Spells & Secrets is a game about attending magical academy Greifenstein as a first year student that you can customize. Clothing in this game is not gated by gender or body type, so your student can wear whatever they want. During character customization, you have to choose a preset face, which are also completely open to chose from, regardless of your character’s gender. You can also choose their body type, height, and skin color.

On your first official day, the school starts to become overrun with magical creatures, and it’s up to you to stop them by using your spells creatively. These creatures have kidnapped some of your classmates, so you will need to use your magic to get them back. The game can also be played in local co-op, so you and a friend can pursue your magical education together. You can also use your spells to solve puzzles and find secrets around the school’s campus. As a roguelite, Spells & Secrets changes up the layout of the school castle, keeping exploration of the castle and grounds fresh. There are also several non-player characters you can interact with and help out.

Gamers who have been hungering for a magic/wizardry game that doesn’t support TERFs will soon have another option available when the game releases for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on November 9.
