Apex Legends reveals Conduit ahead of next season’s update
On Thursday, Respawn announced that the next season of Apex Legends is coming soon with a new Stories from the Outlands short; titled Ignite, it will bring several changes to the game, including a brand new playable Legend called Conduit.
Titanfall 2 fans will be excited by this Legend, as she ties pretty directly into the lore of that game and how it connects to Apex. In the Stories from the Outlands short, we see that Conduit and her family were rescued by a Monarch Titan during a wartime conflict when she was a child. The pilot sacrificed themselves to end the battle, and the irradiated remains of their mech still watch over the city.
Time goes by, and we see the family living happily, with Conduit’s older sister working hard to support everyone. But her job starts to take an obvious physical toll, and after her sister is severely injured, Conduit decides she needs to take matters into her own hands. She breaks into the mech site and by touching the mech’s battery, gains some kind of radioactive power that she plans to use in the Apex Games. She effectively sacrifices her future health for the ability to support her family in the present.
More information about Conduit’s abilities as a Legend, along with what other changes Ignite will bring to Apex Legends will be revealed when the official Ignite trailer goes out on October 23.
