There’s only 48 hours left to support the 2023 Queer Games Bundle

With just under 48 hours to go before the 2023 Queer Games Bundle is finished, the team behind the bundle has launched one last push to reach their targeted goal of $146,000 for queer game devs.

The bundle includes over 450 games, software, and zines from nearly 300 different queer artists, developers, and content creators across itch.io and elsewhere. The best part? You can purchase all of it for just $60 – the price of one triple-A game. If you’re unable to purchase the bundle at the $60 price, there is also a pay-what-you-will tier at $10+.

A statement from Taylor McCue, co-founder of the bundle and representative of the team for the 2023 Queer Games Bundle, about the importance of the bundle and why (if you have the funds) support it, can be read below.

“There are game developers who are disabled, have lost a job, or have put all of their hopes into making a game. For some of these people, this will be their only source of income for months or even the year. Others work part or full-time, but dream of saving money, learning new tools, and having more options. And some developers have donated their work to help lift up fellow queer artists.

The bundle is a concrete way to put funds into the pockets of those who need it, in exchange for great art that covers almost every genre and interest. All of these people want a better future and the opportunity to make a living as developers. The proceeds are split evenly among all participants who choose to receive funding. Our goal is a future in which there are no more starving indie developers.

CNN reports that this is already a record year for anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. All around the country, queer people are being told that they’re not allowed to look how they want, receive healthcare they need, or even be discussed in schools. Books and projects by queer artists are being challenged and removed from public spaces. It’s more vital than ever to elevate queer art.”

If you would like to support queer indie devs and creators from all around the globe, you can purchase the 2023 Queer Games Bundle over on itch.io.
