Stray Gods will release on consoles

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical will not only release on PC this upcoming August but will head to consoles as well.

Stray Gods, a musical RPG from the minds of BioWare’s David Gaider and Obsidian’s Liam Esler, follows Grace (voiced by Critical Role’s Laura Bailey), a young woman who receives an ancient gift from the Last Muse – a figure in Greek mythology. Only this gift ends up turning her life upside down.

The game’s release date was confirmed a while back, but during the Summer Games Fest’s Future Game Show, it was announced that Stray Gods would make its debut on consoles like the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, and not just PC like originally planned.

In the newest trailer, players are introduced to some of the major key players (and love interests) that protagonist Grace will meet during her journey.

First is her best friend, Freddie (Janina Gavankar), a constant companion that’s always been there for Grace since the very start. Next is Pan (Khary Payton), a mysterious figure whose words always seem to have an underlying meaning to them. Then there’s Apollo (Troy Baker), who is kind-hearted but has a tragic, angsty past that makes him guarded. Last but not least is Persephone (Mary Elizabeth McGlynn), a rough-and-tumble boss who isn’t afraid to make harsh decisions to come out on top.

If you’re still unsure whether to be hyped, check out our preview of the musical RPG. We had the opportunity to play a small segment of Stray Gods, and thoroughly enjoyed our time with it.
