Gay Apex Legends pro Hambino joins CCE UCX

On Thursday, CCE UCX (an American esports organization that was formed by Chicken Coop Esports and UCX joined together) announced that it has officially added openly gay Apex Legends professional player Hambino as the third member of its Apex Legends Global Series Pro League squad.

“We welcome @Hamb1no as our third player of our #ALGS Roster in the Pro League! ⛩️ #CCEUCX,” CCE UCX tweeted.

CCE UCX joined the ALGS Pro League earlier this year when it signed the former Revival Games roster of Michael “sauz” Muñoz, Adam “shini” Walker, and Connor “Prophet” Ashby. Prophet left the org just this week to sign with Native Gaming, leaving an open spot on the roster. Thus Hambino found himself with an opportunity to join a pro organization and compete in the ALGS Pro League again.

Hambino has been competing in and streaming Apex Legends since the game’s release back in 2019. He was part of the GODSENT roster that took second place in the 2020 ALGS Online #5 – North America tournament, and also participated in the 2021 ALGS North American Championship on the Obey Alliance team, who ultimately placed 12th. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to find a more consistent home to compete over the past two years, as he left the organization he was signed with, Premier, in February of 2022 without having made any Pro League appearances. Up to this point, he has largely been a Vtuber and content creator, but he has made his pro Apex ambitions known, and now they have been realized yet again.

Hambino will presumably debut with the CCE UCX squad on Sunday, April 16 as they face off against the other 39 teams in the Group B vs. Group A matches. Performing well in these matches is key, as each can help teams earn more points towards qualifying for international LAN events.
