Coffee Talk Episode 2 delay announced during November Nintendo Indie World Showcase
On Wednesday, Nintendo held another Indie World Showcase to present fans with updates on what indie titles are coming to the Switch. One of these updates was the announcement from Chorus Worldwide that Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly, the sequel to the urban fantasy coffee shop visual novel by Toge Productions, will release in spring of 2023.
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly was originally scheduled to release in 2022, but has now officially been pushed into next year, when it will be available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox, and PC via Steam.
In the game’s first episode, players take on the role of a barista at an urban fantasy cafe, where they serve all kinds of fantastical and supernatural creatures, including elves, orcs, and more. In addition to whipping up hot drinks using various ingredients, you’ll also listen to your customers’ various complaints and problems and try to help them out. This ranges from helping an elf and a succubus figure out their relationship, to assisting an alien with their understanding of what it means to be human.
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly will focus on a new set of characters in the urban fantasy version of Seattle, Washington, but players will still be interacting with them from behind the bar. Here, you’ll be able to make drinks and create latte art for the customers whose stories you’ll listen to.
Chorus Worldwide also announced that A Space for the Unbound will launch on January 19, 2023 during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase. This is a pixel art narrative game set in 1990’s rural Indonesia, where a community is dealing with an impending comet crash. It’s up to the player to try to soften the emotional blow of this catastrophe as best they can.
