New Star Wars Andor trailer shows the grit of the Rebellion
A new Star Wars Andor trailer has been revealed, showcasing Rogue One’s Cassian Andor’s recruitment into the Rebellion and the fight against the Galactic Empire.
Star Wars has been a popular series since Star Wars: A New Hope was first released in cinema, and that goes especially for LGBTQ+ fans, who saw themselves in the original trio of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia. As the years have gone by more and more stories have come out from the series, with Andor being the latest TV series in this galactic, space opera from Disney.
The latest trailer on Andor follows Cassian Andor and his view on the Galactic Empire, as well as his partnership and work with Star Wars legend and Rebel political, Mon Mothma. Fans of Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera are also in for a surprise in this new trailer, though whether this means we’ll see other familiar faces from Rogue One remains to be seen.
What we can glean from the trailer, however, is that the first season of Andor looks like it will delve into the horror and grim reality of fighting against a fascist organization that is the Empire. Underhanded methods were shown to be a speciality of Cassian’s during his appearance in Rogue One, which led to tension between him and the rest of the group, but as seen in this trailer – these methods do seem to be how Cassian gets his results.
One face that we know for sure won’t be seen in the first season of Andor is Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO, a matter-of-fact droid that quickly became a fan favourite. “We don’t have Alan Tudyk,” Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy confirmed to Variety. “Not yet, anyway.”
Yet if this new trailer is any indication, new faces will make up the majority of Andor’s cast, all seemingly playing a key role in fighting back against the Empire.
