LynnNyaa retires from Valorant, rebrands to Lx
On Sunday, former Gen.G Black player Lynn “LynnNyaa” Clarke announced that she is leaving competitive Valorant to instead play Counter Strike: GO in the ESL Impact circuit. The transgender player also announced that she is rebranding her gamertag from “LynnNyaa” to “Lx”.
Lx’s announcement came after the conclusion of the Gen.G Astral Clash LAN event for women and marginalized gender Valorant teams, which was put on in collaboration with Galorants and sponsored by Tampax and Always. This was Lx’s last competitive Valorant event for the time being.
“Astral Clash was my last tournament in competitive Valorant for the foreseeable future,” Lx wrote in a TwitLonger post. “I was going to play Sakura but due to some very unfortunate events at a bad time I won’t be able to participate. I’ve played Valorant in GC since the very beginning and I’m so thankful and happy for everything that I’ve been able to experience and be apart of. I wish I could sit here and thank every single person individually but this would be a mile long.”
She also used this post to announce the changing of her gamertag and her transition to playing CS:GO in the ESL Impact circuit. This is the primary CS:GO league for women looking to build careers in the competitive scene.
“With that being said I’m now going to be ‘slightly’ rebranding from ‘LynnNyaa’ to ‘Lx’,” she wrote. “As for my future I will now be competing in CSGO in ESL Impact and trying to build myself in the scene.”
Though she is departing for now, Lx made a point to highlight how important her time in the women and marginalized gender Valorant scene has been for her.
“I still want to be around and interact with all of you that truly mean the world to me. This has been such a big part of my life that I could never forget or replace. Again, thank you all and I hope to see you all again some day.”
