Kitsune Tails prequel Kitsune Zero arrives on Steam September 12
On Thursday, Kitsune Games and MidBoss announced that they are partnering to bring the prequel to platformer Kistune Tails, Kitsune Zero, to Steam on September 12. Kitsune Zero is a reimagining/expansion of Kitsune Games’ other title, political activism platformer Super Bernie World. Players will be able to check out 24 new levels and a new story in this prequel game.
“Kitsune Zero allows us to give fans an early taste of the Kitsune Tails world and expand on the platforming people loved in Super Bernie World,” said Eniko Fox, co-founder, Kitsune Games, in a press release. “Speedrunners, know that we made sure that Kitsune Zero remains compatible with Super Bernie World any% speedruns, so it’s time to lower those times and start submitting to marathons!”
Kitsune Zero will be released as a paid expansion to Super Bernie World via Steam on September 12. The four original Super Bernie World levels have been reset to take place in the universe of Kitsune Tails. Players will take on the role of Yumi, a local fox spirit who is trying to stop a villainous samurai clan from destroying the peace of the village. Yumi has to end the samurai clan’s pact with vengeful spirits to protect the village and restore peace.
The game will feature new story sequences and voice acting from well known voice actors like Michele Knotz (voice of May, Misty, and Jessie from the English dub of the Pokémon anime), Kira Buckland (voice of 2B in Nier: Automata), and Sean Chiplock (Spider-Man in Marvel’s The Avengers, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Genshin Impact). Chiplock will serve as the game’s narrator, while Buckland will voice the fox/human hybrid, Yuzu.
Kitsune Zero will be available for $4.99 as DLC for Super Bernie World on Steam, and as a standalone item on Itch.
