Everything you need to know about the NA VCT Game Changers Series II Main Event

Over the weekend, the 48 teams participating in the North American Verizon VCT Game Changers Series II open qualifiers were whittled down to 24 and then the final eight that would go on to participate in the Main Event. The Main event kicks off on Wednesday, July 6, with qualified teams competing to take the top spot in this tournament and earn additional points towards qualifying for the Championship in November.   • Immortals
  • Shopify Rebellion
  • Dart Monkeys
  • Arianna Grande Perfume
  • Sanri-os
  • Cloud9 White

VCT Game Changers Series II Main Event format

The top eight teams that qualified for the Main Event will be competing in a double elimination bracket; if they lose their first matches, they will drop to the losers’ bracket where they’ll have to fight to stay in the competition. This format essentially gives every team a second chance if they stumble during their run.

All of these matches will be best-of-threes, with the exception of the Grand Finals, which will be a best-of-five. In addition to qualification points, the teams are competing for a share of the $50,000 prize pool.

Point distribution
  • 1st Place: 20% or 80 points
  • 2nd Place: 15% or 60 points
  • 3rd Place: 12% or 50 points
  • 4th Place: 10% or 40 points
  • 5th-6th Place: 7% or 30 points
  • 7th-8th Place: 5% or 20 points
  • 9th-16th Place: 2% or 10 points

How to watch

Fans can check out the VCT Game Changers Series II Main Event via the Valorant Twitch and YouTube channels. When Main Event matches are happening simultaneously, an alternate stream will be available for viewers to watch both matches. The first game will start at 1 p.m. PST on Wednesday, July 6.
