KARMA announces new Valorant roster
On Wednesday, KARMA announced the latest iteration of its Valorant roster and support staff, which will compete in upcoming VCT Game Changers events and other tournaments in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.
KARMA is an independent esports organization that has fielded a roster for women and marginalized gender folks in Valorant since Game Changers first started. So far, they haven’t found a ton of success in the scene. They’ve stayed in the more Tier 2 space of VCT Game Changers to this point.
The new roster isn’t actually entirely new, as players like Joanne are mainstays of the KARMA squad. But some new additions are hoping to give KARMA the firepower they need to see more success.
KARMA’s current Valorant roster is as follows:
- Joanne (controller)
- Chimène “chachi” van Eenbergen (IGL/initiator)
- Dnasdya (initiator)
- Ren (duelist)
- Mimi (sentinel)
- Jennifer “Lufzy” Luisad (substitute/analyst)
- JWM (coach)
It seems to be the season for VCT Game Changers teams to announce new rosters/roster changes. KARMA’s announcement came after the current Valorant world champions, Acend Club, announced that they were entering the women and marginalized gender competitive scene with a roster of their own, Acend Rising. Meanwhile, in North America, reigning Game Changers champions Cloud9 White had a pretty dramatic roster change. Long-time member Annie “Annie_Dro” Roberts decided to step down from the competitive team to focus instead on streaming and content creation. Young, Australian up-and-comer Bob “Bob/Queen Bob” Tran will take her place on the Cloud9 White roster.
KARMA’s sights will be set on performing well enough to qualify for a shot at the VCT Game Changers Championship in Berlin, Germany this November. They have a pretty steep hill to climb to make that happen, but hopefully their roster adjustments will pay off this season.
