Jackbox Games celebrated Pride with charity streams for Howard Brown Health
Last week employees of Jackbox Games hosted two charity streams to celebrate Pride month on their livestream show called Sparkle Train. The show specifically highlights LGBTQ+ members of the Jackbox Games staff. Both were in support of Howard Brown Health, an organization in Chicago that provides access to healthcare for LGBTQ+ individuals. This is a continuation of the company’s past Pride initiatives; the Jackbox team also held a charity stream to raise funds for Howard Brown Health in 2021.
Most gamers will know Jackbox for its wildly popular series of party games, the Jackbox Party Pack. These feature iconic titles like Drawful, Quiplash and Tee K.O. The latest entry, Jackbox Party Pack 8, came out in October of last year.
Jackbox Game’s first Pride month stream took place on Thursday, June 9. It was a four hour event streamed on the company’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The stream included party games with the audience and hourly giveaways. They held a follow up stream on Friday, June 17. This one was also four hours, but took place later in the day.
Both streams benefitted Howard Brown Health. Howard Brown Health “provides affirming healthcare and mobilizes for social justice,” in and around the Chicago area. The organization has provided high-quality, affordable healthcare to over 40,000 LGBTQ+ folks and their families in Chicago. With this year’s livestreams, Jackbox has already donated $10,000 dollars to Howard Brown Health.
Last year, Jackbox’s Pride celebration included two streams for LGBTQ+ organizations (one for Howard Brown Health, and the other for Center on Halstead) and a Juneteenth stream that benefitted Black Girls Code and The Hidden Genius Project.
