CLG Red announces new Game Changers roster

On Tuesday, CLG Red announced its roster for Valorant Game Changers series II. CLG Red is the women/marginalized gender team esports organization CLG has fielded for Game Changers.

The CLG Red Game Changers series II roster is as follows:

  • Han “itnothan” Nguyen (initiator)
  • Kelly “kellysama” Sama (controller)
  • Melanie “rise” Tetreault (controller)
  • Ciao “ciao” Li (sentinel)
  • Anyssa “amnesia” Rios (sentinel)

This is CLG Red’s second roster shift of the year. During Game Changers series I, the squad said goodbye to their captain Benita “bENITA” Novshadian (who now plays for Shopify Rebellion) and added former Moon Raccoons Black and Shopify Rebellion player itnothan to the mix. She made her debut with the team during the series’ playoffs to qualify for the main event. With their new player, CLG Red were able to make it to the main event by defeating XSET female in the lower bracket.

Now heading into series II, CLG Red have made another change. April “bungee” Haight and Claudia “clawdia” Che are no longer on the roster. Instead, ciao, formerly of unsigned squad 1994 Toyota Supra, and kellysama are joining the team in their place.

The changes this team made during their first Game Changers series were enough to get them close to the grand finals of the main event. They made it through the lower bracket to face off against Dignitas Female for a shot at the longstanding champions, Cloud9 White. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to stop Dignitas, who beat them 2-1 and made it to the grand finals.

Series II of the 2022 VCT Game Changers season starts on June 30. CLG Red, along with other teams from other regions like Acend Rising, will be competing to see who has what it takes to reach the grand finals, and ultimately qualify for the Game Changers Championships in Berlin, Germany this November.
