Apex Legends Mobile Guide — Everything you need to know so far

Apex Legends Mobile is currently available to players in select countries, and as our guide will tell you, will roll out further later in the year.

Apex Legends has been a phenomenon in the Battle Royale space since its debut in 2019, but now, more players than ever will be able to access the game thanks to its release on mobile platforms this year.

For new players looking to get started in the world of mobile gaming, as well as returning players who want to give Apex Legends a try on mobile, this version of the beloved battle royale may prove to be a little confusing. Thankfully, we’ve got all the answers you need.

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming with Apex Legends Mobile.

Apex Legends Mobile Guide – Countries of release

Currently, there are ten countries where Apex Legends Mobile is available to download on iOS or Android devices:

  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Singapore
  • Malaysia
  • Philippines
  • Indonesia
  • Mexico
  • Peru
  • Argentina
  • Colombia

Players in these countries can simply navigate to the iOS or Android app stores to download and sign up for the game. This is a limited test version of what the game will ultimately be, with the developers using this regional launch to check on the game and its functionality.

Respawn has not yet announced when additional countries will have access to any version of Apex Legends Mobile.

Apex Legends Mobile Guide – Features of Apex Legends Mobile

In the regional testing version, Apex Legends Mobile still has many of the features found in the base game on PC and console. The mobile version was developed by team members from Respawn, as well as Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, so the original Apex flavor should still be present in the mobile version.

Players who are able to access Apex Legends Mobile currently can play as nine of the game’s Legends:

  • Bloodhound
  • Gibraltar
  • Lifeline
  • Wraith
  • Bangalore
  • Octane
  • Mirage
  • Pathfinder
  • Caustic (Unlocked at Battle Pass tier 25)

Matches can only be played on the World’s Edge map, but Apex Legends Mobile also includes a few additional game modes:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Mini Battle Royale
  • 3v3 Arenas
  • Ranked Battle Royale

Players should note that while Apex Legends Mobile and the base game are set in the same universe, the two will run on separate servers. This means that players on mobile won’t be able to access crossplay with anyone on PC or console.

Additionally, those using Apex Legends Mobile will have access to an in-game store just like the one in the base version of Apex. This store will feature time-limited Store Vaults, Lite Crates, and Apex Packs that players can purchase with in-game currency. Additionally, the store will feature crafting and a “For You” tab with curated cosmetic items. Players can also purchase a Battle Pass or a PremiumPLUS Battle Pass (this one includes more levels, XP, and rewards.)

Note that those playing the early version will NOT be able to keep their purchased items when the game fully launches. Instead, any items purchased with in-game currency during the regional launch will be converted back into the in-game currency of equivalent value. That said, any skins players unlock from the Mobile Battle Pass will carry over into the full launch, along with any currency still available, and players who participated in the regional launch will have an additional 25% bonus currency credited to their accounts when the full game goes live (though you will have to use the same account for the main launch as you did the regional one).

Players in the regional launch will have access to the in-game store until May 3, 2022.
