Lesbian RPG Get in the Car, Loser! now available to play for free
Get in the Car, Loser! is an RPG that is chock-full of something that, if we’re being real, all video games need: lesbians. Lots and lots of lesbians.
Developer Christine Love has gained a following of dedicated fans, and it’s no wonder why that is with her past work. Ladykiller in a Bind won an award for its narrative excellence, and is one of our personal favourite LGBTQ+ video games due to its near spiritual eroticism.
And now, Get in the Car, Loser! is finally here. Even better, the game is completely free to play over on Steam. Expect our review on the game next week!

We had the first gay RPG with Gayblade back in 1992, but now developer Christine Love is adding something new by releasing a lesbian RPG called Get in the Car, Loser! this September.
Love’s Get in the Car, Loser! isn’t strictly the first lesbian RPG to exist, there are games like Super Lesbian Animal RPG from developer Ponett after all, and then there’s Ikenfell which features a heavily lesbian cast. But… which other lesbian RPG combines the sacred words from Mean Girls as its title? That’s what I thought.
Get in the Car, Loser! is described as being about “fighting for love and justice in the face of indifference” – something which can be difficult to do, but is also something that queer people have been doing throughout history. It makes sense that this theme is in an RPG full of magical and non-magical lesbians, all of which that look like they could kick mine and your ass.
But what is the game about? Well, it all starts with the legend of the Agi of Roses, who fought the villain the Machine Devil and locked them away for a thousand years by using the Sword of Fate. It’s been fairly peaceful ever since, but now there are Machine Devil edgelords – also known as cultists – who are doing their utmost to bring the Machine Devil back into the world. While you might think that people would fight back against such tyranny, the Divine Order that rules over the world says that fighting back would actually ‘make you as bad’ as the cultists in the first place. Smells like BS to me…
Thankfully, not all is lost. Three attendees of the local Academy of Order and one renegade angel from the Divine Order has decided that enough is enough: it’s road trip time!
As you travel in your car, all the while being gay disasters with each passing speedbump, you’ll encounter enemies of the Machine Devil that you’ll need to fight. Each character has their own role, with main protagonist Sam being a healer, for example. Combat will be pretty familiar to those who’ve grown up with JRPGs, with an Active time battle system that’s both nostalgic and adds tension to each fight!
Oh, did we mention that there’s no stopping for side-quests or codex fillers either, because you’ve got a world to save! No more 50 hours of hunting for a random object, just pure gay ass content with four disasters vibing their way on an epic, summer road trip.
