Razer asks for beta testing for RGB face mask Razer Zephyr
Cast your mind back a few months ago and you’ll probably remember that Razer is in the middle of creating an RGB face mask called Project Hazel. Well, times have certainly changed and now the coolest-looking mask around is now called Razer Zephyr.
Described as the “most intelligent face mask” ever created, Razer calls the Razer Zephyr a ‘wearable air purifier’ that does indeed look very nice. And now, more importantly, it’s available for folks to beta test the mask in what Razer are calling a ‘community beta test.’ To get involved, you can sign up over at the official website.
There’s a lot that I personally like about the Razer Zephyr and yes, most of it is to do with the personalization options that Razer has on offer. That said, the mask isn’t a replacement for medical-grade masks and if you’re working in an essential place of work like hospitals, the police force, etc, then you shouldn’t be using this.
Razer Zephyr is described as being designed “to be safe, social and sustainable” and sporting a “filtration efficiency of 99% BFE, a secure silicon face seal, and anti-fog coating”. As someone who wears glasses and still hasn’t figured out how to wear a mask with them on without going blind in the process, the anti-fog coating sounds like a dream come true.
Of course, there were other features – back when the face mask was known as Project Hazel – that have yet to be confirmed as still being part of Razer Zephyr. For example, the voice projector or the rechargeable ventilators. The former would be more of a loss for me, mostly because I’d like to sound like Darth Vader as I talk to someone from the bank, but if push comes to shove… I guess I can live without it.
Pricing for Razer Zephyr, as well as when it’ll be available for purchase, has yet to be confirmed by the company.
