The PlayStation Store introduces a collection full of great LGBTQ+ games
PlayStation has recently introduced a collection of LGBTQ+ games, available for gamers to see by going onto the PlayStation store on their PS4 and PS5.
A lot of places have committed to showcasing LGBTQ+ games or communities this month, the month of Pride. That includes Xbox, as well as video game studios like Behavior Interactive and EA by including Pride-orientated content in their games Dead by Daylight and Knockout City. Even Riot Games’ Valorant and Respawn’s Apex Legends have joined in on the fun.
Now it’s Sony’s turn, with Game Content Specialist Sean Labode tweeting that the games involved in the PlayStation store LGBTQ+ collection have all been lovingly handpicked and are “bursting in LGBTQ+ characters, stories and themes.”
There are, overall, 54 games that have been picked by people over at Sony and it isn’t just triple-A games like Mass Effect: Andromeda or The Last of Us Part II, but indie games as well. Some we didn’t even know had LGBTQ+ themes like Kingdoms of Amular: Re-Reckoning and Granblue Fantasy: Versus.
Here are just some of the amazing games you’ll see in this great, inclusive collection:
13 Sentinels
Developed by Vanillaware and published by Atlus last year, 13 Sentinels was a surprisingly queer, sleeper-hit for a lot of LGBTQ+ fans of the game. Surprising because this game is about mechas and kaiju’s. But that didn’t stop there being a certain character that many queer games fell for the moment they met them. We won’t spoil anymore, you’ll just have to play!
Divinity Original Sin 2: Definitive Edition
Divinity Original Sin 2 is yet another great hit from Larian Studios. A RPG that lets you create your own character, or play as an original and become immersed in a fantasy world of cannibalistic elves, talking skeletons, possessed magic-users and, of course, queer love. If you haven’t played Divinity Original Sin 2 yet, then don’t miss out. Grab the game and give it a go!
Undertale
Undertale is a 2D role-playing game about a young child called Frisk who tumbles into a world of monsters and gets into some serious shenanigans whilst there. You’ll meet a cast of wonderful, quirky characters and perhaps witness a love story between a fish woman and a dinosaur… Yeah, it’s pretty gay like that.
