Itch.io hosts a bundle of games to help aid Palestine

Itch.io, a storefront that’s well-known for hosting charity bundles just as much as it is known for hosting video games, zines, music and more, is now hosting a bundle that will help raise money for Palestine aid.

Hosted by user Tybawai, the bundle offers over 1000 different items for the price of $5 with content from 864 content creators. Not only is it an exceedingly good bargain, but it’s also – to be frank – the right thing to do. As we’ve stated previously, what’s happening in Palestine right now is nothing short of genocide and we, as human beings, must do everything in our power to help.

At the time of writing, the Indie bundle for Palestinian Aid is at $411k of the $500k goal and considering there’s still 4 days to go, plenty of time for you to reach out and throw a fiver – or more, if you can – to get these games and help provide aid in whatever way you can. Regardless of whether the goal is reached or not, all profits will be donated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency

A statement about the bundle reads: “Indie games are unique in that they can tell stories not seen in AAA or other games. We pour our life experiences into our games and share a piece of ourselves with the world. Palestinian game developers are no different in this aspect, but have the added challenges of limited access to basic services, like clean water, electricity, medical care, and food security. They live under Israeli authority that discriminates and subjugates Palestinians to the point of persecution and apartheid, simply for being Palestinian. Furthermore, they develop games without all the resources that come with being in a western hub for game development.”

The statement goes on to mention Palestinian game developer Rasheed Abueideh, who went on to create a game called Liyla and the Shadows of War – a game about a young girl who lives in Gaza during the war in 2014. You can get your hands on this game via this bundle, alongside well-known games like Minut, and Pikuniku.

You have until June 11th to support this itch.io bundle and help Palestine, so don’t hesitate and if you’re looking for other ways to help, consider reading our previous article on how to do just that.
