Here are the best selling video games of May 2021

Is New Pokémon Snap underselling? What’s happening? Someone catch me, I’m collapsing.

With a full month of release under its belt, New Pokémon Snap debuts in the number four spot. This is kind of concerning considering the depth of the franchise, but at least it was knocked out by other incredible titles like Resident Evil and Call of Duty.

It’s also important to note that the gaming industry is coming back to its normal plateau thanks to COVID vaccines and the world getting back to normal. According to VentureBeat, May 2021 was only up 3% in sales when compared to May 2020. These numbers are actually an improvement when examining the annual April differentials. But, hey, we had a good run and terrific inflation in the industry.

These were the top ten best selling video games of May 2021:

2. MLB 21: The Show
3. Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War
4. New Pokémon Snap
5. Mortal Kombat 11
6. Mario Kart 8
7. Returnal
8. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
9. Minecraft
10. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
