NYC Gaymers announces Pride School Festival!! Return to Hokori High – Turbo Edition!
NYC Gaymers is an organization that has empowered gamers across the intersections of orientation, identity, expression, race, and ability through the use of education, advocacy and the creation of safe spaces for all in need of it.
As members of the LGBTQ+ community, we’re all very aware of the need for a space to bring people together, all while keeping each other safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why NYC Gaymers, known last year for celebrating Pride with a fully online event, is announcing a return with its Pride School Festival!! The event is sponsored by GeekOUT, an advocate that seeks to rally the queer, geek community and producer of Flame Con – the largest LGBTQ comics and pop culture convention.
The NYC Gaymers new Pride, 3-day event – the full name being Pride School Festival!! Return to Hokori High – Turbo Edition! – will start on June 18 through to June. It will be inspired by the spirit and joy of school festivals that people can see in their favourite anime. The camaraderie, the strife, the celebration of a great time! And of course, it’ll all be done virtually.
Because of the Pride Festival being virtual students, aka you gaymers out there, will be hanging out on the campus of Discord. Guests will be greeted and given a short orientation to make sure you get your bearings, and know your way around the school. Volunteers will also be available if assistance is needed, and of course if you’d like to participate as part of the ‘student council’, then you can also sign up. The best part is? All of this is completely free, no strings attached!
NYC Gaymers are keen to see more creators and community leaders reach out to be part of their virtual celebration. They welcome artists-alleys and vendors as sponsors, and are on the lookout for new, exciting ways to make this Pride Festival POP!
